The Jefferson municipal swimming pool will open next Saturday for the 2015 season.
The regular hours and prices are unchanged from last year. The pool will be open daily from 11:30 am to 8 pm. Adults and seniors will start the day with lap swimming from 11:30 to 1 pm. Open swimming will be from 1 to 5:30 pm, and from 6:30 to 8 pm. Adult/family swim will be from 5:30 to 6:30 pm. Children must be accompanied by an adult at that time.

There’s good news about swimming lessons. For many years Home State Bank has sponsored a week of free swim lessons, and they’ve filled quickly. This year, Farmers Mutual Insurance Association is also sponsoring a week of free lessons.
Free lessons will be June 22-26, compliments of Farmers Mutual, and July 6-10, compliments of Home State Bank. Registrations are being accepted now at the Greene County Community Center. To assure access to free lessons for as many children as possible, children who register for the first free session will not be able to register for the second free session until June 22.
The Jefferson park and recreation department is also offering two sessions of paid swim lessons. The first, a two week session, will be Monday-Thursday, June 8-11 and June 15-18. The second, an evening session, will be July 13-17.
